Title of position: Business Development

Position type: Full Time

Pay range: $80,000-$120,000 per year (exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)

Location: Westminster, Colorado

General Characteristics: The Business Development (BD) role will support the Kahuna management team in BD efforts focused on expanding existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities with new clients, supporting the expansion of Kahuna services into other relevant markets, and working closely with the Marketing group for Company outreach and event planning. This position will play a key role in supporting the sustainability and growth of the Company. This position will report to the VP, Project Execution and work closely with the Kahuna Project Management resources and all department heads.

Responsibilities:

Internal:

  • Responsible for supporting company Business Development and Marketing events.
  • Provide updates during company meetings on Business Development opportunities and industry trends.
  • Provide input into and support proposal development in response to client RFQ’s.
  • Support the development of Company goals for continued business growth.
  • Support Company website updates, social media posts, and marketing material updates.
  • Maintain the Company CRM database and status of opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to Company management on industry trends and potential future focus areas.
  • Develop BD budget for the year and track costs against approved budget.

External:

  • Build relationships with industry clients to ensure inclusion in RFQ/RFP opportunities.
  • Travel to client offices to discuss upcoming projects, gather input on Company performance, and maintain relationships.
  • Identify events and sponsorships important to the expansion of Company growth goals.
  • Present Marketing materials and presentations to potential clients.
  • Represent the Company at industry events including the GPA national convention.
  • Coordinate with management on opportunities to introduce the Company to new clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary company information.

Other Duties:

  • Continue to be on the forefront of business development strategies and continue to pursue professional development training in BD efforts.
  • Perform other business development tasks as assigned.
  • Support Company project management staff on maintaining client relationships.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of business development experience.
  • Prefer two (2) years of business development experience in the energy industry.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem solving and research proficiencies.
  • Ability to initiate cold calls and conversations with new client contacts.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Communicate effectively in speech and writing.
  • Willingness to travel to events and meetings
